Ta`Qali Crafts Village
Famous from Malta, Mdina
Description:
Ta’ Qali Crafts Village is located in Ta`Qali National park, under the bastions of Mdina, 10km away from Valletta. It is popular spot for tourists who would like to see the production of local crafts and artefacts such as lace, glass-blowing, filigree, jewellery, pottery, furniture-making and stone works. Whole ambience is very artistic and unique, set in old aircraft field, that was used long ago by the British Air Force.
Public buses driving toward Mdina have their bus stop here. Or you can book a tour that takes you to the location and gives you enough time to explore the handmade artworks. In 2016 the funds are provided for so much needed facelift, with new street lighting, public open spaces, parking facilities and a family area, so it serves tourists needs.
The entrance to the crafts village is free. Most of the shops in the village are operating Monday - Saturday from 09:00-16:00, on Sundays only till 12:00.
